Alison and Brandon were still in Utah for Labor Day Weekend and for the twin's birthday party. We all met at Em's and Carl's and had a BBQ in their back yard. It was great to be there for that event. Hard to believe they are already 2. But we missed the majority of that time of their lives. Emilee is probably feeling every day of those two years! Those kids are so active and so into everything, she says!
They had a great time playing with the balloons that decorated Em's house when we got there. Our house had some water problem (the water heater leaked and soaked the carpet and drywall in the laundry room and in the sewing room and was not discovered for a few days) so it smelled pretty bad. We stayed the first few days with Emilee. Alison and Brandy were there too, so it was a full house! But it was great to wake up to the kids every morning for a few days.
Leave it to Papa to think of a fun and unusual way to play with the balloons. The kids thought it was pretty cook the way the fan would blow them around and keep them in the air.
Brandon and Carl tore out the wet carpet and drywall the night we got home. The High Priest group leaders, Mike Cobia and Boyd Hales, visited us while at Emilee's and said they would help put in the new water heater. We borrowed Cobia's truck and got the water heater home before Alison and Brandon had to leave. They were also very helpful in getting the boxes up from downstairs and getting the furniture back into place. Mike and Laura Holley had moved out two weeks earlier (leaving most of their stuff in the sun room), so that was a blessing to us. Between Mike and Carl Davis, we got the water heater in and the problem resolved. At that time, Alan was not supposed to be doing any heavy lifting as he had not yet been to the doctor for the diagnosis. We are so grateful to family and ward members who were so helpful in getting back into our house so we could at least stay there. It was great to be home. We loved having the kids come visit, which they did quite often. Kimee was in school, so several times it was Ethan, Bekah and Jake who came to visit us. It's hard to believe that Kimee is in 1st grade and she is doing well. She read to me often and is getting to be a good little reader. The iPad was a hit with all the kids.
We got most of the toys up from the basement and the kids enjoyed them like they were all NEW!
We got home just in time to harvest the raspberries. The twins learned they really like raspberries. Good thing we had a bumper crop this year and that they were a little later coming on and lasted a little longer!
