Before leaving UB, we were able to get some pictures of members and friends we had served with in various places. The picture below shows Ganbold (deaf), Enkhtaivan (piano student) and Bolor-Erdene (friend and YW President) and her friend. All are from Choibalsan.
Below: Chingunjav, Batxolboo, (both from Choibalsan) Sister and Elder Groesbeck and Batbilieg
(served with him in Murun.)
President Benson and his daughter, Marianne.
Before going to the hospital, we watched the Benson children for a few hours one afternoon so Sister Benson could attend the zone conference. They had created a TV out of a large box and each had prepared a program to present to us. Bella presented a cooking show.
Tommy made an airplane, while Marianne sang to us and John showed us his karate moves.
We served with Sister Onon in both Choibalsan and Khovd and she was in UB when we left. She speaks English very well and was very helpful in writing good-bye letters to our friends here in Mongolia.
We had dinner one night with the Gardners. Elders Neuberger and Flint,
Batholboo and Chingunjav also came.
Batholboo and Chingunjav also came.
It was a great evening.
Batholboo is serving in the UB Mission until he gets his visa to leave for the MTC and the Provo Mission. He was Elder Flint's companion and his English was coming along nicely.
We hope to see him when we are both in Utah.
The Gardner's were very kind to us while there in UB and they, along with Puje, eventually went to Khovd to pack up our stuff and get it shipped to UB. All the Senior Couples are wonderful people. We didn't get to see Puje as she was in the countryside doing a video of her grandmother's life. The Stewarts sent us home with a lovely book on Mongolia and a bag of Mongolian candy for the kids.Us and Elder Flint. We served with him in Murun during some very difficult times for all of us!
We were sad as we said goodbye to the beautiful Mongolian sunrises and sunsets.
