The last Saturday we were in Choibalsan the youth planned an activity on the river. Every time we would ask someone what there was to do in Choibalsan, they would say to go to the river. Well we never made it until today and we had a blast. The activity was well planned and well executed. The walk down took about 30 minutes. Gansukh was carrying the PA system and so LaNice offered to help him carry it. Not sure if it was easier or not, but at least it gave him a break for a few minutes.
The kids were split into five different groups. When we got to the river, the groups rotated between five different teachers to receive spiritual insturction.
This was Gansukh and Battsesteg's group.
Batkholboo taught another group.
Alan taught a class on setting and accomplishing goals.
The next game was played by each team picking a 3 beat action to associate with their team. Another team would do their action and then the action of a different team. That team then had to do their own action and the action of yet another team. If they lost the beat or messed up, they were eliminated fro the competition. It was pretty fun!
They had asked us to teach the Heel and Toe Polka, so it was now our turn. We had taught it once several months ago, but most were not there. We really had a good time with this and they wanted to do it over and over again.
After that, there was food to eat. We didn't know we were supposed to take something, but everyone shared with us. We still have a hard time with everyone eating out of the same bowl and using the same spoon. But they seldom seem to get sick and must have a very strong constitution! They were also drinking water out of the river. Couldn't bring myself to do that either.
It was a great activity and the setting was beautiful as was the weather. The company was great and the spirit there was strong.
