Young Women

LaNice served as the YW 2nd Counselor in the New Darkhan Branch working with the Beehives.  It was an amazing experience.  This is the first ever New Beginnings which we held.  We worked on it pretty hard and were pleased with the turn out, although there were some girls and their mom's that we expected, but who didn't show.
This is our YW Presidency, Sister G., Selenge (President) and Enkhee
A nice spring day at the church.  Bolormaa, Sister G., Daria, Ondaria and Bolormaa's sister.
Just horsing around at the church with Sisters Matthews and Eskelsen.
LaNice was asked to teach music conducting at the Old Darkhan Branch.  The youth did really well and the attendance was good.
The YW did a Sacrament Meeting which working on one of their activities.  They decided to also sing as a choir.  There were many others who sang, but these are the ones who came to the practice.
We tried to learn "If the Savior Stood Beside Me", but they said it was too  hard, so we sang a song from the hymn book instead.
This is Bolormaa and Namuna helping at a Relief Society activity.  They were always willing to help prepare and then clean up after the activities.
For one of the value project, we discussed the 13th Article of Faith and then visited a local museum to see if the things we saw were "virtuous, lovely or of good report."  Most of what we saw were.  This is a replica of a museum on display in the museum.
The museum also is home to this dinosaur that was discovered in Mongolia and then illegally sent outside the country.  A complaint was filed and the dino was returned to its homeland!
Sister Davka is the Fredley's translator, but she is always willing to help us out when they don't need her.  Here she is translating LaNice's YW New Beginnings talk.  She said she has learned alot about YW translating for the senior sisters, which is good since she is the YW Pres. in Old Darkhan. She and her husband are wonderful and faithful members of the church.
We were not able to attend youth conference as we were getting ready to retun home.  However, we got several great pictures.  This is King Benjamin (Stake President Odgerel) talking to the youth.  Building the tower, they said, was really fun.
This is the area where they camped.  One of the regrets we have is that we were never able to attend Youth Conference.  The first year, we had just arrived and were sent to Murun.  The second year we had had just arrived in Khovd and it's a long ways from Khovd to the conference.  The third year, we were getting ready to come home.
There are some advantages of serving in the City where the senior couples were more able to participate in these types of activities.  However, we would not trade our experiences in the outlying branches for all the youth conferences in Mongolia!
