Teaching English

We had the opportunity to teach English at this high school.  It wasn't too far from our house.  We taught four days a week.

This is our sponsor, Bugdaa, and his wife.  They were wonderful people.  At first we were concerned about what he would expect from us, but after attending several of the classes, he said we could teach however and whatever we wanted.  However, he did want the students to know how to do things if they ever visited America.  So that's how we approached the class. 

This is LaNice's advanced class.  She taught them words for cooking and how to follow a recipe.  We made cookies, which turned out OK, I guess. 

This is Alan's class teaching directions.  Their names are Bat-orgil, Bayarmaa and Sister Davka. 

This is LaNice's class giving directions of how to get from one place to another.  The student's name is Boynaa.  He is an engineer for the city and worked long hours, so was not able to attend very often.  He had several cars and would occasionally give us rides home from school. 

This is the graduation of LaNice's first class.  Most of the students were English teachers who didn't speak particularly good English.  It was a really fun class.

This is the second class we taught.  It was smaller, but still very fun.  Several of the students would walk home with us after school and get as much exercise speaking English as possible. Ariunaa Ravjaa is one of my friends on Facebook.
