Downtown UB

We had to go to the office supply store to get some highlighters and notebook paper.  The Golden Pen is only a few blocks from our apartment so we walked down to the store.  We went past the Wrestling Palace, below.  Wrestling is a very popular sport here with many matches held at Nadam, a holiday coming up in July.

The traffic in UB is very heavy and drivers are very aggressive.  This intersection is one of the few that has a traffic signal and a crosswalk.  We are very cautious crossing the street because drivers seldom yield to pedestrians.  The MH is located close to the traffic signal, so we generally can get a break in the traffic to cross, or the traffic is backed up so we weave through the stopped cars.
