Most of the extra service projects we did were cutting wood for people to heat their homes. There are fewer gers here and more wood frame homes. We went with Sister Oyuntuya and Sister Tsevlmaa to cut wood for this family. We had noticed when we visited their house the night before that the ger was sort of cold. When we asked if there was something we could do for them, they suggested cutting wood. So we went the next day and did just that. Just being sisters and two old people, we didn't get much done, but enough to keep their ger warm for about a week. Batsukh, the brother of the man of the house, was home and helped us with the cutting, which really helped!
These are hard working sisters!
LaNice wasn't so good with the hand saw, but did her best. The young man is an investigator brother of the member who lives here. The member and his wife are less active, but the daughters are very active!
We worked better as a team!
Then the wood had to be split into smaller sizes to fit the stove. Sister Oyuntuya is a little lady, but she worked hard to split the wood!
A pretty small stack of wood, but a lot of effort went into it! It's hard work getting it done! It sure kept us warm on that cold day--so there were added blessings there!
