BALLOONS!!

We have experimented with different ways to help the kids at school learn their colors.  We have been working on colors with some of the kids for about 7 weeks and some of them are finally getting it.  Others joined the class in September and have been learning colors and body parts since then.  And again, some are getting it and others will probably never get it.  But the important thing is that we have fun while we are trying to teach.

We found some balloons in UB and then actually found more in Murun.  So I am using them in my class.  We batted one color around while repeating the color name.  It was sort of crazy!

It was even crazier when we got all the colors going!

 Then we went out in the foyer and had a relay.  Amazing that only 2 balloons got popped!  I use wire ties on the balloons so we can use them multiple times.  We never used to even think about it when a balloon popped, but here we try to use them as often as possible because there may not be any more where those came from!

 The little girl in orange is actually 15 years old!  She is a sweetheart.  The little girl in pink is partially deaf and doesn't speak clearly.  She is so adorable!

After winding everyone up, we went outside for pictures with the class.  This is definitely a part of our mission I will never forget.  It is amazing to see what some of these kids can do.  The boy in the back in the white shirt, Bilgee, was in a wheelchair before they started working with him here at the school. He still walks knock-kneed and on his toes, and he falls often, but he is the happiest guy and is always smiling and high-fiving us!
